Yes. Our course has been thoroughly reviewed and fully approved by Private Protective Services. It meets the requirements under Tenn. Code Ann. § 62-35-118 for unarmed security guard training.
You need a score of 70% or higher to pass the final exam. You get three attempts if you need them.
The Alliance course is $60. With state fees, the total is typically around $165. Your training certificate is emailed automatically within 24 hours of passing the final exam.
1. Complete the online certification course (about 4–5 hours). 2. Schedule and complete fingerprinting the same day or next day. 3. Submit your application and pay the Tennessee state license fee in CORE. 4. Print temporary proof from CORE so you can start working right away. 5. Receive your full license in the mail within about 2–4 weeks.
After you submit your application in the CORE system, print your payment receipt and submission confirmation. Carry those printed proofs while on duty — they serve as your temporary license. The state typically issues your official guard card within 2–4 weeks. That permanent card authorizes you to work for any licensed security company in Tennessee.
